The Alamar Atlason Story

Nice piece on our transfer portal addition from Bradley.

Really hoping he’s as good as advertised. My inclination is that we have seven guys (at least - I haven’t seen the freshmen) good enough to start just about anywhere in the MAC.

I think he will at the least be a solid contributor.

I will say when we signed him I lurked the Bradley boards to see what they thought and while he seemed to be popular as a person and they were happy he got an opportunity to play somewhere, they were glad to see him moving on from Bradley. I got the sense his game wasn’t thought highly of, but it sounds like he was often playing out of position there.

But fan boards sometimes aren’t the most rational evaluation (except here of course)

I’m here for the depth debate already!

But what suggestions did Bradley fans have to improve attendance?

I was wondering what this “Les Tours Bakery” is that’s sponsoring this article. Me thinks me needs to go spend some money Uptown the next time I’m in Oxford.

It’s my favorite French-Asian Bakery in Oxford.

It is a chain. They recently opened one in a suburb of St. Louis, University City. The ownership is Asian. Now that there is one here in STL, I don’t have to buy in Oxford to bring home!

Meaning of Icelandic name, Almar.

It originated in South Korea, not a more logical French Asian combination like Vietnam. They expanded to areas with Asian communities first, had success and are now expanding to other areas. Oxford was one of their first one hundred US locations, I assume because of the (at the time, not sure how those numbers are holding in the current environment) large Asian student population.

They own a number of brands, including Bibigo Asian foods, Mrs Smiths, Tonys and Red Baron pizza. Also the title sponsor of the Byron Nelson PGA tourney in Dallas.
