“This survey was designed and administered by Miami University students, alumni, and faculty mentors to gauge public perception and inform public conversation. This survey does not represent the official views of Miami University, nor are its results a formal part of university planning and decision-making. Given the importance of this topic to the future of Miami University and its community, we thank you for your engagement in this process.”
The manner is which the survey is constructed suggests that the sponsors are heavily biased against the Cook Field location…and more broadly, intercollegiate athletics.
Not the worst survey I’ve ever taken, but not including details around the deferred maintenance and cost of renovating Millett is a huge blind spot in the question design.
Also the survey mentions the new arena would add student fees of $500 per student per year to help fund. At 15K students that’s $7.5M annually, or $30M over four years.
In reality, almost everything that the university builds and does is ultimately funded by tuition and student fees. Students are the primary revenue source. In reality, the arena would be less reliant on student revenues than most anything else because it would attract external ticket buyers.
