I didn’t understand a word of the halftime show but I got the message loud and clear.

I loved the half-time show and - as an original 12 - I couldn’t be any happier about the Seahawks win! Sherman Smith moved into my apartment complex after he was drafted. Our alumni chapter held a day to honor him later at the KingDome..

I majored in International Studies at Miami with an emphasis in Latin America. I took both Spanish and Portuguese.

The NFL is looking to expand its footprint internationally within the next few years and both the SĆ£o Paulo and Mexico City markets are under consideration for future franchises.

The halftime decision made terrific business sense.

As an aside, Kid Rock was the abbreviated name of Epstein Island.

Thought it was fantastic. I can barely understand some English-speaking artists at times. Some just don’t annunciate words clearly and others sing too fast/mumble; I still can love the rhythmic sound.

=>Is announcing your Superbowl halftime show preference just modern-day virtue signaling?

Channel 9’s Facebook page asked people to grade the show from A to F. Almost all As and Fs with a number of folks saying watched Kid Rock. Either everyone has totally opposite tastes or I can guess who everybody voted for based on the grades..

The halftime show was OK, considering most folks didn’t recognize a word.

Re THE National Anthem…This single Anthem performance was the best ever SB rendition.

Chris Stapleton

Seems to me that most of the likes and dislikes are politically based

I blame Justin Timberlake. I don’t recall an annual culture war over the dumb halftime show before the ā€œwardrobe malfunction.ā€

It wasn’t political for me. I just I’m not a fan of that type of music and would have wanted something more mainstream.. I didn’t understand what he was saying or singing about.

Different strokes.

I find it interesting that in a thread entitled Super Bowl more talk is about the halftime show than the football game.

I speak fluent Spanish and lived in Latin America for six years. I love Latin music, but not BB. I agree with NESCACDAD: The NFL is now focused overseas. There will be nine games played abroad next year, including Australia for the first time. Marketing strategies overrode entertaining 300 million U.S. English speakers at the Super Bowl. The political aspect of this was introduced by Bad Bunny’s frequent public forays into politics, and the league’s decision to feature him at halftime. It’s probably good for the league that most people couldn’t understand the lyrics. If you wonder why NBC didn’t provide close captioning, here is the translation from one of his songs; it was not the only one like this: ā€œLook at Orma, look at Orma, he’s horny
Hahahaha (Hahahaha, hahahaha)
My dick is being chased and I want you to hide it
Grab it like a bonga
She took a pill that made her horny
She fucks in the Audi, not in the Honda, ayy (Tra)
If I give it to you, don’t call me (Tra)
'Cause this is not to make you love me, ayy (Tra)
If your boyfriend doesn’t eat your ass
He better fuck off

Come down to my house, I’ll lick it all up
Mami, I’ll lick it all up
Come down to my house, I’ll wear you out, ayy
I’ll wear you out
Come down to my house, I’ll lick it all up (Papi, keep going!)ā€

Interestingly, Bad Bunny scrubbed his instagram account after the game.

He makes a lot of good points!

Wow, you really know your Spanish!

Did he actually sing this song or is it just one from his catalog. I really want to know as this is interesting to me.

He actually sang it.

This doesn’t seem meaningfully different from In da club that 50 Cent performed at the Superbowl
