Last year the non conference was announced on 8/8 and the whole schedule on 8/14.
Tomorrow is 8/21 and no indication we will get anything this week.

We got the schedule….the MAC Schedule ![]()
Has MAC play ever started before Christmas? Hate that we’re hosting Akron during j-term but at least we don’t play them on the road this year.
No Fridays this year it seems. Thats ok with me unless it means no national tv
So it’s possible that we play Akron early, then don’t see them again until March.
Playing Kent once is strange.
I always like to see a road trip to Ypsilanti.
This is the odd 13 team year but only one game against Ball State and in December
Nothing more romantic than suffocating Bobcats on Valentine’s Day.
The OU game in Athens is actually on Friday March 6th–I confirmed on MAC site as well.
Somone can correct me, but I think we got flexed to the Friday game several times last year.
So they aren’t necessarily scheduled.
Right. The whole league plays that day. No individual fridays this year but maybe that is Tbd
I think those Friday games get flexed as the season goes and they see standings etc. On face value, the only potential games that are currently scheduled for Saturday that could be flexed to Friday if both teams are doing as expected would be home v OU in February and maybe at Toledo in early January but not sure they start flexing games that early. The rest of our Saturday games are against teams not expected to be top half of league.
Playing at UMass. I’m satisfied with that part of the schedule.
Strange schedule .. but I figured out why (so far) haven’t heard any complaints.
Unless I missed something - other than natural rivals (OU-Miami) none of the traditional MAC powers in the old ‘East’ play each other more than once. Akron-Ohio, Miami-Kent, Kent-Ohio, Miami-Akron and a few others only have one game - some on the road, some at home. The other oddity is UMass gets a bye the final week of the season, meaning nine days between games if they make the MAC Tournament, as expected. Pending how you look at it, that’s either a get well card at just the right time, or a get stale card.
Don’t know which one until they play.
I haven’t checked, but guessing if one of Miami-Ohio-Kent-Akron only play Toledo once, instead of twice, that could have an impact. Right now, too tired to check.
Latest Joe Lunardi bracketology has us as a 13 seed playing Arkansas in Buffalo, with Ryan Pedon’s Illinois State in the same group:
That would be a dream come true. My NCAA group is planning on Buffalo next Spring.
Two new OOC games per D1 docket:
Home vs Mercyhurst Thursday 11/20
At Wright State Tuesday 12/16
Love seeing that the Wright State series is continuing. Personally, I would like it to be a home and home every year like we used to do with UD. That would be a great nonleague home game for both teams every season.
I wonder if we’re still trying to get into a 4 team MTE and/or trying to arrange a P5 buy game at this point ![]()
We only have 6 D1 games currently scheduled plus rumors of a home MTE with 2 games. If we assume 3 non D1 games, that gets us to 11. We typically play 12-13 non league games.
I’m just surprised we can’t get a P5 buy game somewhere with a good B1G, Big East, Big XII team…I get the bottom of those leagues not wanting to play us, but not the top.
Also heard NKU flaked on a H/H with us for some reason ![]()
