Ah the 1974 Kent at Miami controversial
Ending. I was there. Larry Poole was a beast by the way. The old game clock looked like it had expired…the second hand was sort of straight up actually hard to tell. The officials concluded one second was left much to the dismay of the Golden Flashes. Gave us the chance to kick the winner.
That was a big moment in that season probably the biggest.
I was at that game as a member of the band (I think I know ur daughter) if Im thinking if the right one. It was hell, they moved the band to the other side of the stadium, and most instruments couldn’t even play because their lips were too cold. If i remember correclty, that was the game that they brought the Myaamia tribe out on the field to be recognized, and I felt so bad because literally no one was there except us and maybe 13 fans.
I was at the NIU game last week. The taunts were brutal. “transfer to a real team”, making fun of how much fil the players were watching “I dont think youll find anything on that ipad!” “I heard mcdonalds is hiring!” “talawanda could beat you guys!” etc. At one point an NIU coach came up and yelled at the students, and tolf the cop to arrest them (he obv laughed that off). But after that they looked up the coaches name and started making fun of him directly. They did similar stuff at the Kent game this year too. It was hilarious.
That is about what I thought was going on. See, we do have some true student fans.
