Pittsburgh Steelers 2025

Tomlin is not a bad coach but he’s stale in Pittsburgh, he needs a change of scenery. The Rooneys need to find their own version of Ben Johnson and let him modernize the franchise.

Rodger’s has been one of the very few good personnel decisions Tomlin has made. He certainly hasn’t been the reason why they sucked this season. Sunday yes, but the season no

And his signing will likely result in more wins this year (none or one in the playoffs)…And a less-attractive all-important draft position next year.

I don’t understand the Tomlin bashing. Going into this season the over/under for for Steeler wins was 8.5. I don’t think anyone believes they have one of the better rosters in the NFL nor have they for quite a while.

He has had an average team for years and has achieved above average results.

Meh. Tomlin had a HoF QB for 15 years and underachieved bigly.

This is true…And it is time for a change. The “change of scenery” (mentioned above) might be best for Tomlin and the Steelers.

Bleacher Report QB Grade for Aaron Rodgers this week:

Score: 25-10 loss vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Stat Line: 16 of 31 for 161 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions

Aaron Rodgers had exceeded all expectations entering Week 10. However, he finally looked like a 41-year-old quarterback against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers had answers for the Steelers offensive approach, mainly by bracketing wide receiver DK Metcalf, and forcing Pittsburgh to target other weapons. Rodgers and Co. didn’t respond well.

Pressure rattled the long-time veteran. Rodgers worked himself into Khalil Mack’s arms for a safety. As a passer, Rodgers often snapped off throws too quickly. He wasn’t anywhere near as accurate as previous weeks. To be perfectly fair, Rodgers’ second interception did bounce directly off of Calvin Austin III’s hands. However, Rodgers simply airmailed the first turnover.

“This was not my best performance,” he [told reporters] “I got to play better than this for us to win. Whatever it takes … if it’s better checks, if it’s better throws, whatever it is, I got to play better. I will. … We got to play better on offense, for sure. But this is part of the season. There’s ebbs and flows, there’s ups and downs, and we can’t ride the wave.”

Grade: F

In my defense, I jumped on the fire Tomlin Train about 5 years ago.

Athlon just released their report card on NFL coaches at halfway through the season. Tomlin gets a B-.

Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers

Even when the Steelers started 4-1 and looked like they might run away with the sketchy AFC North, nobody was really buying into this team. Despite the addition of Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf, the offense hasn’t formed much of an identity. The defense, meanwhile, has badly underperformed. Tomlin is vying for an incredible 19th consecutive non-losing season. But unless he gets more than what his team has shown thus far, the remaining schedule might not allow it.
Grade: B-

Zac Taylor of the Bengals got a D-

It’s Mason Madness time!!

Ramsey was correct to swing at him. No class Bengals being the no class Bengals.

With the upcoming schedule, really needed to win that one today. Mason was so-so, but they continue to ignore the middle of the field and the Bears had a lot of injuries at linebacker. Defense meanwhile still can’t stop passes over the middle.

The defense blows. If they don’t get turnovers they can’t stop anything.

If the Steelers can’t get their offense going against the Bears’ injury ward defense then I don’t see how they’ll get it going anywhere, with or without Rodgers.

Nice to see Dom Robinson out there (up to 275 pounds).

At this point, I think the problem with the Steelers is less personnel than coaching. I really hope that Omar can convince the Rooneys to drop Tomlin and his bum DC.
