Miami wins 82-72. Miami moves to 17-9. 9-6 in MAC play. Miami played like shit the second half after a near flawless first half. Gutted out the OT so that is a positive.
“Ice cream and party bus”. Glenn’s parting words. I wonder if Glenn’s little girl made this trip. She goes on a lot of the away games.

Katie Richason came up huge, we were down1 with under 2 minutes to go and she got an old fashioned 3 point play, then iced it with a 3 as the shot clock was winding down. Without Eliko on the court, we could just play everybody straight up defensively and except for a surprise 3 by their backup center and a careless foul on a three shooter we shut them down in OT.
The game changed for us late in the 4th when we were down. After Tamar fouled out we tried Cori and then Emily but neither was playing well and finally put Nuria in and slid Maya to the point and after that we played well the rest of the way and won the game. With all these late game survive and advance type of games we have won lately the girls have lots of confidence down the stretch.

Rockets win 71-68
Enj had 20 and 5 assists, but 7 turnovers showed that she was forcing it too much. She had 8 points in the 4th quarter as she is very determined to win and generally takes over late. Amber ended up with 14 points and 17 rebounds, so an amazing 37 rebounds in last two games. Katie had 12 and Tamar had an amazing 2nd quarter which propelled us to a 23 point lead which we frittered away in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Entertaining game.

Singer pulling an Evan Ispsro style box…almost a sneaky triple double. She’s very good. This staff is just wow. What a year. I am really impressed. Gonzo is a star.
I think Coach Box made some good moves at the end of the game. After Tamar fouled out he quickly tried both Cori and Emily at the point and then went to Maya with Nuria on the wing when the first two played poorly. That worked, Maya took great care of the basketball. The second thing was that with Eliko fouled out we went inside down the stretch and Amber and Katie were able to score with Eliko out….I love Enjulina’s fierce determination in these close games. She is super competitive and wants the ball with the game on the line.
