My Jive/ESPN/ChatGPT bet made me $30. If I let this ride through the national championship, assuming similar odds, and subject to betting limits, I should have over $450,000,000 when we win. MiamiHalkTalk Court at Smithspike Arena!
Iâm also glad we have a week offâŠ.
Spot on SmithSpike!! You nailed the game to a âTâ! 3 hrs ago!!
Any formula to factor in the Refs?
Just asking for a friend.
After the last 2 white knuckle games, the boys deserve a week off!
So do we
As do all Miami fans with heart conditions.
Whaley was getting away with everything throughout the game. He was dropping his shoulder on a set defender repeatedly, and using his hands when rebounding. The foul on Byers when he was undercut and the Kent player brought his hands into his face was egregious. Glad for the W, and the boys played their butts off.
Skaljac has really been playing well, and has been a great distributor as well as making some tough shots in crunch time. I felt like Suder was not playing to his potential earlier in the year, but he has come on big-time recently. And Elmer does everything. Byers has the yips at the line. Kirby seems to have displaced Perry as the backup at 1&2, which I agree with.
Last post of the night for me. Great win. Gutsy win. Great teams overcome adversity. But we need to right the ship at the free throw line.
Simply amazing!
Also, I was reading the Reddit thread to see impartial fans opinions because I know Iâm a homer, and two things stuck out.
Lots of people saying itâs impossible for Miami to play D when when they are illegally using arms and shoulders to clear space.
And #8 on Kent pooped his pants at some point during the game.
Damn YellowâŠyou are from the future!!!
Rooting for the Bearcats tomorrow
needs to be Déjà vu with what they did last game
Bounce us from what?
Dude. We won.
I love being every teamâs Super Bowl and still winning anyway. Hope the bar tab was worth it, Rob The Slob!
That is what Kent gets for not selecting my entry for 2 of the free 150 free tickets. I wanted 2 empty seats to be âcourtesyâ of Morgan Safford.
Iâm jealous of everyone who got to watch the game in person. What an atmosphere. Great job by our fans to make it even that much better. It felt like a championship week game played on campus.
To win any game in that gym is an accomplishment, especially since they get away with their fair share and seem to ride the momentum wave. But to do it when having to come back, in overtime with the big target of a ranking, after stinking it up for a long stretch of the 2nd half, was tremendous. Congrats to everyone for regrouping and finding a way.
In the last 11 minutes, we out scored them by 11. We started to make them work defensively, especially their tweeners. Itâs amazing how ineffective someone becomes offensively when they have to play at both ends. Safford had no legs for jumpers and Whaley had to go to the bench in overtime because he was gassed. All we needed to do was reverse the ball once, set a couple of screens and we got a good shot. That should be the lesson learned. Suder was really good in the lane. This may have been Elmerâs best offensive game at Miami. And Skaljac was cold blooded, deciding to take it at Medley who couldnât stop him.
Defensively, I hope we donât double Whaley in the post again. Give him his right hand dribble then walk him off. We finally did that late in regulation. We were sharp those last 11 minutes defensively. They made some shots, but we were in the right position.
We need to tell our guys to slow down at the foul line and not start backing up on the 2nd free throw. When thatâs in your head to do that, it messes with your rhythm.
Our bigs canât be nonfactors like this. Itâs a big step down defensively when Woolfolk gets in foul trouble. Atlason needs to think about shot selection. More often, teams are playing him for the pick and pop 3 and contesting it hard.
But wow, what a great game. With this win, in case we need them, weâre in great shape with the tiebreakers for March. So proud of this team. Letâs keep getting better!
In the last 11 minutes, Kent shot 5/17 from the floor with 5 turnovers. They made quite a few free throws, but our defense was really good when it had to be.
As far as the whistle goes, it was rough on the boards but we need to measure up. Yeah, Byers got clobbered in the face, but if he locates the guy charging in and puts his burt into him a little bit, he doesnât get in there.
