MIAMI V BGSU GAME THREAD!

The defense is shocking to me. We added 2 dynamite G5 linebackers and other pieces in the transfer portal. Where is Bae Jobe this year? Why is #52 Moore a backup- he had MAC recognition at Akron. Safety has been a trouble spot all year. Our linebackers look slow in coverage too

If you had told me offense would score 20 points and have no turnovers- I would have thought we would have won for sure

I keep hearing about our awesome depth and how many guys can help us win - but we arent dominating 4th quarters-outscored 35-17

We’ve had some solid DBs over the years but it’s never been the strong point of the Martin defense. When you have dudes like Costin/Trick on the line or McWood/Salopek at LB for run and pass rush it helps the soft zone coverage work with a bend but don’t break strategy (along with field position from elite ST). I don’t care if it’s because of transfer losses or talent development, but the pipeline has dried up and we’re left with an uninspired dud.

Oh my, tragic. Take care, and keep posting, I love your comments.

Absolutely, first start by dominating the MAC, and then talk about moving on.

My wife and I are both are on blood thinners. Her sensitivity is much larger than mine…but she plods along and tries to avoid bumping into dangerous things which is just about anything with a hard edge.

Ah….

Loss on coaching staff. HOW STUPID not run the ball and force BG to use timeouts.

And IS a complete joke especially pass D.

And OL CAN NOT run block worth a shit OR the RBs suck.

Heavner got better as game went on. Loss NOT on him

I used to think of us as “Linebacker U.”, but that’s apparently gone.

The offensive line is a joke and they should be embarrassed.

The defense is an abomination.

Chuck sucks.

It’s basketball season.

I am probably more positive on Coach Martin than most but yesterday was certainly ridiculous and unacceptable

That being said Martins future should be based on what the NIL providers and David McComb think. Those are the two entities I am most worried about

I agree, Redsea. In these times big donors call the shots. If we lose them, we lose it all.

Good point on McComb…his retention should be saylers priority

I like McComb and I think he’s got a good college career ahead of him, but do we really want to pin the future of the program on a RS FR with four career starts coming off a season ending injury? It’s the Weathers/Cooper thing all over again.

This probably silly but the other thing I keep thinking about is not retaining Eian Elmer. All
The money we spent on this roster, and we lose Elmer presumably because we couldn’t afford him. Where would that money have been better spent? On this dumpster fire or on a basketball team we know can compete at the national level.

Idea: if you bring in a coach who really cares about winning and has a plan, you can start from scratch and get results and the donors start giving. See hockey. See Men’s basketball. See field hockey. Men’s golf.

If Urban Meyer (or the next up and coming version of him) walked in the door next year, I think we’d have plenty of players stay and donors donate.

We are dominating the mac just not this year. We have dominated in every sport

With the exception of a couple seasons we have been mired in mediocrity for 13 years. Nobody is excited to see Miami football.

A high energy hire could change this completely. UC went from lethargic Tommy Tuberville to Luke Fickell and CFP.

You have to be kidding me. He is the best qb we have had since #7

You’ve made the conclusion that McComb is better than Gabbert and Dysert based on…? Going 13/13 against a bottom third FCS team?

I’m excited about McComb but let’s show some respect. Zac Dysert rewrote the record book here, was an NFL draft pick, and on the active roster for a Super Bowl.
