You are correct, sir. Stewart Jr. was Div.3 second team all-Ohio from Mariemont. Dad played for Miami in late 80s. Very good shooter, averaged 9 pts over 4 years.

Great to see a fellow Mariemont alum join the Hawks!
Tim Stewart, Sr, was one of the best pure shooters Miami ever had.
Tied for 3rd for career 3 point pct with Landon Hackim at .419. Trails only Wally and Craig Michealis. Very elite company.
For context, Mekhi Lairy had a career .356 mark and .369 last year.
Great to see the roster at 15. Will save the coaches from having to get in the action every day.
Since Eli returned and we had a previous commitment for a PWO from Evansville doesnât that make 16?
I am assuming the Indiana kid backed out and went somewhere elseâŚ
I believe you can have no more than 15 on D1 roster.
I think you are correct
Indiana kid?
Tim Stewart Jr, is 6â6" and averaged 21.3ppg as a junior. Was named 1st team All State. 2nd team All-State as a senior, averaging 17.2ppg. 1273 points in his high school career. As stated above, his father, who was also about 6â6" was an outstanding shooter for Miami. Excited to have his son on the team.
I once waited for an elevator downtown Cincinnati with Tim Sr. He has been in the commercial real estate business and we were working on the same floor, not long after he graduated. Looks like heâs now a VP for Cushman Wakefield, while I went on to post thoughtful messages on a college sports fan board.
You win the internet for the day. Or at least a tiny little slice of it.
Surprised nobody mentioned that Tim Stewart Sr has reffed several games in Oxford and is one of the top MAC refs as he worked many MAC tournament games over recent seasons.
And we still havenât won any with stripes on our side!
Yep, talked about that with some friends on Monday. I think he is a pretty good official.
Potential depth chart for next season:
Pg: Dean, Isparo, Cooper
Small SG: Mabrey, Hunter, Yofan
Big SG: Safford, Bultman, Stewart
Wing F/PF: Lewis, Kotecki, Elmer
Center: Mirambauex, Morris, Potter
I donât know how good weâll be. Not a lot of star power, but probably the best depth and quality 1 thru 15 than Miami has had in many years.
The number of recent transfers to non-D1 schools and/or injuries (Jackson Ames, Luka Eller, Mitchell Rylee, Curtis Harrison, Javin Etzler) and/or marginal D1 talent (Eli McNamara) really speaks to Owensâ recruiting. From his first recruiting class (Sibande, Brown, Adaway, Ringo) to Mekhi Lairy and Dae Dae Grant, his recruiting fell off significantly in his later years.
If we stay healthy, we win a lot. Thatâs my prediction. Talent here is night and day better.
Not saying you arenât correct, and I hope you are, but isnât this an âon paperâ type of thing at this point, as far as how much better we will be? We have only 5 returning scholarship players from last yearâs team, and 8 newcomers. I agree âon paperâ this yearâs roster appears much improved from last yearâs.
Not trying to be snarky, but as itâs July, everything is going to be âon paperâ right now, good or bad. Weâll find out for sure when the games start.
Yeah, I think things are trending up too but Steele has to show that he can develop the talent on paper into something legit on the court. At Xavier he got some big recruits but his teams ultimately disappointed at a program that has constantly churned out NCAA tourney programs and up-and-coming coaches this century. The MAC isnât the Big East, but heâs gotta show something.
Come on Steele, how many seasons do you get before you start showing something?
I may be in the minority here, but his X results were not bad. Itâs just become a very cut throat job there. He beat top 25 teams. Had teams ranked in the top 25. The team he recruited and coached won the NIT. Albeit with one of his assistants. Big deal. He still played a huge part. I recall Frank the Tank getting fired from Nebraska, Bob Davies at ND, the IU menâs hoops coach getting let go after he got them to the national title game. To me, certain schools have unrealistic expectations. But what do I know. In a few months Golden Gate Fields will be gone and with the closing of Bay Meadows, Iâll have nowhere to go scream at horses. Where will I channel the rage?
