March Madness 2025

Pulling off an upset with Colorado St.

Wow… the UNI win over Kansas was 15 years ago. Time is a cruel, cruel thing.

Geez, there are some bad shooting teams today. St. John’s was a joke.

So happy to see them lose. I was rooting for giant sinkhole, but I’ll take Calipari as a consolation prize. Now if Hurley can get rolled tomorrow life will be good.

St. John’s wasn’t a good shooting team all year. They were able to get by in the Big East. If UConn loses tomorrow, the Big East is out, so they weren’t a very good conference this year.

Hey, i was there! His name stuck out to us too.
Did you do both sessions? I needed a nap between sessions and still couldnt make it to the end!

He’ll be there tomorrow! He’s an assistant at Colorado State, and they’ve got Maryland on Sunday.

I did do both sessions, and it’s a long day for sure. Are you going today?

Yep, heading over now. Well rested and ready for some great games!

Brutal non-travel call on Maryland to end the game with a buzzer beater. Watch in any way you can and it’s 3 freaking steps.

Kent leads Stanford 26-16.

Now it’s 29-27

Colorado State having to deal with a dud at the Snoop Bowl and now a heartbreaking buzzer beater loss with the Sweet 16 at stake.

I had CSU in the Sweet 16. Ugh.

Kent dominates Stanford, hangs on and wins 77-75

Yet Miami the team that beat them thrice doesn’t get invited

The lesson to be learned from this is … whenever Miami does get the opportunity, take advantage of it.

Give Kent credit for at least doing that.

That box score is mind-boggling. Two Kent starters score a combined 3 points. Smaller Kent out-rebounds an ACC team on its own floor. Stanford big averages a double-double, but needed a last-second 3-pointer and rebound to get his averages.

ACC = meh
Did I spell meh correctly?

Nice job Kent!
Agree, sad MU not there.

What’s interesting to me is, you would think every time Kent wins, Miami’s Kenpom numbers would go up as well, considering the 3 wins hed-to-hed. But while Kent is up to 109-Kenpom, Miami remains at 147.

Strange.

Not a big fan of sports talk, but a very interesting but depressing segment on Get Up about how NIL is the death knell of mid majors making Cinderella runs in March Madness. Arkansas lowest (highest?) seed left. Talked about the raiding of mid majors by agents and big programs all season long, not only when portal is “open”. Makes me more pessimistic about Kam staying.
