Both of them were great players at Miami. Chet has established an impressive profile in the coaching community, including working with USA Basketball as an assistant on some of the age-group national teams. If he were willing to come back to Oxford on staff, his connections would likely be beneficial for recruiting.

To be fair, at the time, Gage and Rashad weren’t able to transfer again and immediately play. The court ruling came shortly after that which cleared the way for multiple transfers by an individual without having to sit out a year.

Chet Mason is very well established in the Cleveland high school hoops scene, including having his own well regarded holiday tournament. He can certainly help Miami recruit from there. I would be very surprised if he took a Miami position. But, hey…
