“Greener” could be $$$$ better, but getting splinters and pine time as well so it is a trade off even if you get the money and run. It is a very sad state for “amateur” sports.
I think Kam should be OUT with an asterisks. His agent specifically said he was leaving the door open to return. I think that is noteworthy. Most don’t even say that. All that said, if he gets a big offer, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him transfer, but also remember that Brett Gabbert also entered the portal.
Kam obviously has a relationship with Steele, but Steele has also said he wants his guys to get paid if that’s what they want, so I assume there is active dialog going on right now between Kam and Steele to figure out what is best for him.
Unlike football where some of these guys really only have a couple years of earning potential, guys like Kam and Pete (and hopefully Brant) could have long careers in Europe in front of them (Bramos played 14 years, Mavunga 10 for example), so I think Miami does have an advantage of playing the big picture with guys where being a star in the MAC could be a better launchpad then an off the bench or 3rd fiddle on a bigger stage.
His mother called. Doesn’t think it’s funny.
Geez Eddie. At least hide the watermark in the upper right corner and come up with a realistic school. John Carroll or Kenyon University would be funnier
Watermark is part of pic. I like the OU touch. Maybe Sinclair next time.
Sinclair would be funny since Dr Steve Johnson, the College President, shut down the Sinclair athletic department a few years ago. Folks have been wondering when athletics are gonna come back but nothings been heard. Shame really. Sinclair made the D2 Junior College World Series before COVID. And basketball games were low cost to attend. Great popcorn and properly balanced carbonated beverages.
Today, about the only time the gym (Building 8) gets used for college sports is when the First Four comes to town. It’s interesting seeing teams from power conferences come to practice on Sinclair’s campus.
Suder returning to MU. Just saw the tweet. Still pissed about Cleveland but this helps.
JOB’S NOT FINISHED! LETS GO
I have a feeling Kraft will be back, but he might get an offer that he can’t refuse. I still think he is likely to have a bigger role if he stays here.
This is the type of leadership Pete has shown all year. What a player and leader. Get out early and let the rest of the guys know you are committed. Hopefully that helps with retaining some others who may have outside interest. Next season could be special.
50% of our 40pt scorers are returning. LFG!
Suder coming back is awesome. Hopefully Kam follows suit. I have no idea what kind of money might get thrown at him, but with two years left, if Kam comes back, tears up the conference again and wins a MAC tourney, there might be an even better opportunity with a larger bag for him after next year.
Great to hear. I’m still marveling at his first half performance against Akron.
Hope Suder can convince Kam to stay. I think he’s just trying to get more NIL. Guess I need to make a donation to Red Brick Legacy haha
If I’m 19 years old and someone gave me 100k I’d put it in a Roth. Not sure what the max amount of contribution is, but I’d max that shit out and put the remainder in a CD and then keep taking out whatever was left every year and putting it in the Roth until it was empty. By starting at 19, you’d be miles ahead by age 59.
Ah, who am I kidding. I’d squander it all on women, wine and song likely over a weekend.
A poet once said:
I’m livin’ out in LA
I drive a sports car just to prove
I’m a real big baller 'cause I made a million dollars
And I spend it on girls and shoes
Speaking of Skywalker, shout out to Luke. What a talent. Had a great year. Kid was every bit as good as advertised.
Or perhaps you’d blow it all by hiring Van Halen to play your birthday party?
Maybe I’m just seeing things through red-and-white-colored glasses but I felt good about Suder. I still feel good about Kraft returning. Maybe the 2025-26 scorched Earth/revenge tour will become a reality after all.
