Dude’s traveling so hard he’s carrying the ball like a running back.
Agent saying he’s keeping the option to return open is at least something to let our hearts get ripped out twice on Kam.
I can’t imagine being a coach these days. Steele has to try and re-recruit his entire team while they are free to enter the portal and test the waters. All this while Steele is also trying to manage the portal for incoming talent as well.
While I hope Kam decides Miami is the best fit and does re-commit, as long as we keep one of Kam and Brant, I think that’s not a disaster. We have a bit of a logjam between the two of them at the wing sharpshooter position and both deserve to be playing starter minutes.
While I would never choose to lose Mr. Craft logic would suggest this improves our chances of Mr. Byers, Elmer and Mr. Suder being on the roster next year.
If I recall correctly, Martin said something in December about how the period between the MACC and Snoop Bowl was the hardest he’s had to work in his entire career between retention, portal recruiting, and game prep. Scot Loeffler was sleeping three hours a night for long stretches before leaving for the NFL. It’s insanity.
Football is 10x worse as you are managing 105ish spots rather than 15ish. This is why many programs are adding a “GM” position like the one Andrew Luck took at Stanford. Its too much for the coach and you need an NFL style GM to help manage personnel.
I hate the Portal. Unless we get someone good, then it’s awesome. But right now, I hate it.
The open wound is getting stretched more and more. Unreal.
Agreed. I’m still drained from the game on Saturday. I’m not ready for the portal news.
Steele brought Craft to two different schools and he thanks him by jumping in the portal.
Yeah, I am honestly surprised that Craft is considering leaving. Disappointing to be sure.
Damn. Figured he’d be one of the loyal ones. NIL and revenue sharing are going to need to fork out some cash for him
Could be getting his valuation and giving us a chance to match. Guess we will find out!
Could be a star in the MAC, bench role player at most playing at a higher end school.
His family was well represented in Cleveland and was at the rallies. Hard not to take it personally, though I’m trying.
Yes, I think he would be taking his chances on getting less PT at a major power program. I think that he would be wise to stay here w Steele.
I knew when I saw 17 new replies that nothing good was about to appear.
Depends on what he’s trying to maximize, I suppose. Reggie Virgil wasn’t even first team all-MAC, and Texas Tech is paying him what, $850K or something?
Yeah I am sure he can pick up some bucks…depends on what is most important to him. With the way he “disappears” at time and is not that gifted at defending, he is taking a big risk in transferring to an elite team if he gets the chance. He will get his minutes here.
