Buffalo has skin of their teeth wins over UMass, Kent and EMU. We play them and they will likely drop another game
Gotta beat wmu this week or they pretty much lock up a spot in Detroit with their remaining schedule.
If we win this week, we have work to do with our schedule but I think we are in good shape.
WMU is the fulcrum game for our season the way I look at it and the remaining schedule
Miami is projected to play Northwestern in Detroit in the GameAbove Bowl on Friday, 12/26.
Do we beat them?
This won’t happen if we make it to Detroit in the form of the MAC Championship Game
Week 9 Bowl Projections:
Friday, 12/26
GameAbove Sports Bowl
Ford Field (Detroit)
1 p.m., ESPN
Maryland vs. Miami (Ohio)
-OR-
SERVPRO First Responder Bowl
Gerald J. Ford Stadium (Dallas)

San Diego State vs. Miami (Ohio)
lol - CBSS still has us playing Louisiana Tech in the non-existent Bahamas Bowl.
What’s more absurd: Miami in Ohio, or Technology in Louisiana?
3-sport roadtrip…
12/26 GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit, MI with Miami
12/28 Great Lakes Hockey Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mi - Michigan Tech vs Miami
12/29 Great Lakes Hockey Invitational - Miami vs TBD
12/30 Miami at Bowling Green basketball
12/31 Spend a night or two in wife’s doghouse
Updated projections have us playing in Boca Raton (Temple) or Tucson again (Fresno State).
Obviously there is built-in bias following last year’s experience but Tucson should really be the top choice for the MAC:
- Great location
- Played on a Saturday, rather than say a Tuesday afternoon
- Snoop
Absolutely a favorite of mine. Only the Bahamas can compare, and its purely location. I think @yanksalex took this as he was getting a massage.
Only negative is the CW but with the YouTube tv espn drama it might not be a negative anymore
And even that was a plus in some ways, Thom Brennaman and the crew didn’t treat the game like an CFP appetizer. The biggest downside by far is how difficult it is to fly into Tucson, though if it were easier I supposed the bowl would’ve been gobbled up by a bigger conference by now.
I think it’s more about tv views. ESPN channels seem to get better views than cw for bowls
I loved the Arizona Bowl last year. Great crowd. Great pre game event at the bowl site. Nice weather. I think the MAC champ should go there. But you are right about views on the CW. I am pretty sure the rating was 557k viewers which was the worst of all bowl games
