The rest-who cares.
a lot of respect for a UMASS roster and Frank martin that has around 75% roster turnover
Frank Martin’s at UMass? Man, he must never unpack his suitcase!
#95 and top MAC team! Norlander knows ball!
He gets it, and being a very avid listener of him and Parrish, I’m pretty sure Matt did his homework here. Nate Johnson is a bigger loss to Akron than Kraft is for us (respectfully). This league is ours for the taking this year.
Kraft never played defense. 10 games under 10 points. Yes when he was hot, he could score in bunches. I am not meaning to denigrate him, but he had flaws in his game and that is why he often wasn’t on the floor in clutch time. We will be fine. I wish him and his wallet well at Georgia Tech.
By the way, Norlander has Georgia Tech at #85, so not much above Miami, and he doesn’t even mention Kraft.
Bigger loss is potter to me. But even then he really never played much more than 20 minutes
On a relative scale, Kraft is probably a bigger loss than Potter, but with the addition of Alamar, Atlason, and Robbins, we will more than make up for Potter’s production, and Alamar can also make up some of Kraft’s scoring. Plus, last year’s freshmen (Skaljac and Byers, and yes, I know Byers is a RS sophomore) are now sophomores, and this is the traditional year you see a jump. I am not the least bit concerned about replacing those who entered the portal. We will be better.
For those that don’t want to scroll here is what Norlander says about Miami:
I’ll take the RedHawks in the MAC, which if it comes to pass would mark the first time since 2006-07 they won a league crown. Former Xavier coach Travis Steele has found a groove here, and this season’s team has a pleasurable mix of high-end mid-major freshman talent and dependable experience. Guard Peter Suder (team-leading 13.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.8 apg) thrives off connectivity with his teammates. Suder, Evan Ipsaro and Eian Elmer will be the core in Oxford, Ohio.
