I think we’ll see H&H vs Dayton and X much sooner than UC. Their pride will prevent them from doing anything that makes financial sense
Even a 2-for-1 doesn’t make financial sense in many cases. A D1 buy game in college hoops costs like $90k. A home game with a crowd of 10k is gonna bring in easily $300k (not sure what the game day expenses are).
Dayton is D1 FCS in football. they just don’t offer athletic scholarships in the Pioneer Conference.

Yes but it is not really like the old school Div 1 AA and it is far below the Montana’s and NDSUs and Ivy League level of FCS.
Ivy doesn’t offer athletic scholarships either.
In name, sure, but almost all Ivy’s have very generous financial aid for those that don’t come from means. The bigger hurdle for Ivy athletic success is they don’t relax their standards (maybe they’ll bend them very slightly but not much) for their athletes.
But anyone who would have issues attending an Ivy, athlete or not, is going to have the cost be free or negligible if you don’t have means.

Dayton played Yale a few years ago. It wasn’t a contest. The elis ran UD off the field. Why Harvard won’t play the Flyers is a mystery to me.
The full cost of attendance aid and the prestige swings a lot of kids to Ivy who could play at a higher level.The same is true for the NESCAC little Ivies in D3.
Kinda weird, but I suppose if they think they can sell 6k-8k tickets and split the money, then it’s probably pretty appealing.
