It goes against my morals to congratulate OhioU on winning anything, ever. Period.
Can’t root for the Bob-rats.
I put aside my dislikes for other MAC schools when they play P5 OOC games, and root for them to win. Elevates the MAC which benefits Miami and all other conference members.
One great win.
And some other meaningless game.
At home with a blown field goal call no less.
OU still sucks and always will but nice to beat the “big boys” for the MAC
Building on my “perception is everything” comment last week, Chris Vaninni has moved us up from 101 to 72 in his weekly 133 rankings. He’s has us at #22 in the G5 and ahead of 10 P5 teams. That’s what I’m talking about, boys! Winning builds the perception that you’re a winner. Our only loss is to a Top 25 team on the road in our opener. Take care of business this week. Leave no doubt who the FBS team is. Then start taking care of business one at a time - and don’t assume going in that they all have to be close.
Hopefully Chris VanillaIce’s Magic Poll that definitely matters can get us a New Year’s Six Bid!
Sports writers convey perception to everybody - and even to a certain extent the coaches who don’t have time to watch other teams play.
CFN has Miami up to #55 one ahead of UC. Up from around a 100 last week.
Perception matters even outside of the NY6 G5 bowl bid. Getting a good bowl game requires winning first and foremost, but also that people recognize your team name/brand as being good.
As well as a reputation for your fans traveling - and for spending money.
