They say that giving is contagious, but man o’ man this board has a high level of immunity to giving. That’s why were trotting out the following new giving specials for those who are immune to giving (i.e., cheap), or who can’t afford $290.
“I have a high-maintenance wife with expensive tastes” - $100
“My monthly subscription to OnlyFans is killing me” - $100
“My youngest kid is really ugly and needs braces” - $75
“My monthly Viagra and Ozempic prescriptions are really expensive” - $50
“How do you expect me to maintain my daily 12-pack of Bud Light expense, my monthly mortgage, AND give to the Men’s Basketball Excellence Fund?” - $25

I don’t think it’s bragging at all. Giving is contagious, most people want to be part of the fun (and this season has been fun). Be part of the fun. If you want nice things you have to pay for them. I understand that some can’t afford $290, but it doesn’t have to be $290, it just has to be something (see our current giving specials above).

@yanksalex Tough guy? I’m not the one who chose to intimidate a Miami fan who said he had 4 kids and a mortgage. Different generations I guess, I was raised to give to causes or charities I believe in and not brag about it. I’ve been donating to Miami athletics since 1970; how much is between me and the university. No amount of browbeating by you will change that.
What you’re doing is admirable and commendable, your methods are not. Encourage fans to donate, it’s not necessary to attack those who don’t do it your way.
