Road tripping to Northern Illinois was bad. UMass is a stupid long way. But to go from Oxford to Tempe and Phoenix in the dead of winter for basketball? Ok, I can see that.

I mean, who in their right mind wants to road trip to Boulder, CO, Tucson, AZ, Lawrence, KS, and Fort Worth, TX, when you can road trip to lovely Akron, Muncie, and Ypsilanti?

All fine B12 venues, but their charm is easily negated the first time it rains mud on you in Lubbock.

The âmud rainâ typically (though not always) falls 100s of km downwind (east and southeast) of Lubbock. Youâre more likely to choke on the surface or near surface âdustâ (aerosolic red and reddish brown clay particles) in Lubbock⌠or get hit in the head by a flying flour tortilla.
