I get the competition aspect but if Williams were able to be a really good rebounder, for instance, I want to be seeing that by now. Williams should be forcing his way into more playing time instead of us speculating what could be if given more time.
Last thought —He’s an ACC transfer. We’ve seen what a guy like Safford can do. Comes in, is physical, active, makes his presence known.
It’s getting late early for Williams to show he can be anything more than a spot shooter and ‘sometimes’ guy.

Morgan Safford did a great job on Bates yesterday, plus he got some help with occasional double teams. Bates was only 5 for 18 on field goal attempts. However, as a consequence of having Safford 25 or 30 feet from the basket, we did not have him inside rebounding and defending. I thought we really missed his toughness and aggression , and Lewis, Smith, and Williams did not do enough to replace that. Both Lairy and Mabry played big minutes but contributed little to the inside defense/rebounding, so really it was left up to those other forwards. I think that is probably where we lost the game.

Damn! Another memory failure! I thought I had this one cold. I recall the MAC @NIU game much more than the next season. Guess we tend to remember the wins and delete the losses after the statute of limitations has run.

Yes, I do too, plus he is good and capable for a walkon, he could certainly earn a scholarship somewhere if that is what he wanted

He’s retired.
As am I. Problem is every day is Saturday. However, there are days I have to check to see what day of the week it is. Game days helps me during the season.
As for the media guides, I would get my bball every year from Corinne. A good friend who I miss. Loved the media guides. Still have dozens of fball and bball. Yea, it’s on-line. But I liked holding it.
Also, thx for your reports on our recruits. I follow them closely but you make it very easy. Again, thx for your time and efforts.
