Still in the Top 20 and that still matters. Just win, baby!
@mollautt is Fake News
Stephen Means from the Plain Dealer, who famously was reluctant to rank us at all, bumped us up from #19 to #13 this week. I guess the light bulb went off for him that having a ranked MAC team is good for business.
Two other writers from MAC country (Dave Jablonski in Dayton and Connor Earegood in Detroit) have us ranked #12.
Despite “dropping” 1 rank, we went up a significant number of voters from 360 to 420, so was more a product of Arkansas jumping up and everyone getting closer.
Maybe some of the voters were OU fans and didn’t appreciate our players telling their fans to f-off after the game. ![]()
=>My copy and paste cut off the 1 and 2 in front of those in 100+ range. Weird.
Here is a screenshot where I posted in on a Slack channel.
=>You mama @Phil04.
Who gave Matt Lauer a vote?
Then the AP is truly a subjective joke. Most rankings (NFL, EPL, etc) reward results. 1 point wins count the same as 20 point wins. If these “experts” lower us because the margin wasn’t large enough (whatever that is), they have replaced subjective expectations for results.
“Close wins” is a horrible term…there should only be wins IMO. Otherwise a scoreboard would include style points.
Why are we getting on the AP? Should we be ranked #1?
We have been ranked for 9 straight weeks and continue to increase our vote total week over week.
And we’re still ranked. It’s not like they dropped Miami out of the poll. Again, Arkansas jumped up. That’s about it. We’re still good, literally and figuratively.
Most of us aren’t.
Miami drops to #26 in latest AP poll today. Miami lost 320 votes from last week!
I was actually surprised we stayed that high. 26th in coaches too. A win WEDNESDAY mighy clinch top 25
Deserved after SHIT show last week .
=>Nah, have to make Sweet 16.
Received 26 votes in the final poll
Ha! Both Miami (#31) and Akron both finish higher than Ohio State!!
