One thing in our favor regarding a power 4 wanting him right now is his size. If he were 6’4’’, we would be in trouble.

With his gaudy stats in HS, I figure his size was the reason all his D1 offers were G5 schools. And you are right, that might keep him here like Brett.

Makes sense and I’m sure that applies to every position. The real question is assuming you have chosen the right guy to be your starter, don’t you need somehow to ensure you have made the right decision as to who the #2 and the #3 is at each position throughout the season?
The emergence of Gotkowski as QB #1 solves or alleviates two problems or issues. The most immediate issue is that Miami is still on track to make it to Detroit and win the MAC championship. Second, and more long term, is that Miami now has a QB with game experience heading into the spring and next fall. This makes it much less likely that Chuck will grab a QB from the transfer portal at the end of this season. I feel good about that, and really want to see Gotkowski and Ehrlich duke it out in the spring (and fall). My biggest fear going into last night was that Chuck was going to stick with Hesson no matter what for the last two games leaving the team with no QBs with real game time experience going into the spring and leaving Miami to roll the dice on another transfer portal QB.

CM usually doesn’t have a scholarship QB running scout. Usually a walk on.
Nothing. Throw “on air” and watch . 3,4,5 QBs, if they are on scholarship don’t run scout, even if they beg… and they do. They occasionally get reps in summer camp. So, they are bored to death.
What about Sydney Sweeney?
Gotkowski was scout QB all last season and Ehrlich ran scout till last week. Both scholarship QBs
