It’s the unintended consequence of it all. I hope the non rev sports can create their own leagues. Maybe sans NIL.
Many years ago Wisconsin cut baseball. Also Stanford, which had many Olympic sports also has cut sports recently. So sadly, the bottom line is that schools have already many years ago focused on certain sports.
Not just Arkansas. SLU cut men’s and women’s tennis last week. I believe there have been 6 universities in the last month or so that have announced they are cutting tennis.
Which is partly why I don’t mind letting the athletes do what they want. Schools have behaved this way for decades. Now they have a convenient scapegoat to keep going without the negative press - they can blame those greedy athletes.
Iowa state just cut women’s gymnastics. Guess even title 9 takes a back seat to NIL
