They should put up 90-100 on EMU as Toledo (.500 record) scored 94 on the Eagles in a 94-75 win @ UT. Eastern has lost 9 out of their last 10. EMU is much better at home and is a tough team to figure out. They either play well (64-56 win @ Cincy, 97-91 win vs. Oakland; 76-75 defeat vs. Kent in 2 OT; an 80-74 win vs. UMASS, a team better than ttheir 15-13, 6-9 record; and scored 91 in a close loss @ Kent) or they play bad (@ UT; a 100-65 loss @ CMU; a 90-83 defeat vs. IU-Indy; and an 80-65 loss @ Purdue-FW). I’d normally say the Redhawks could roll out of bed and take care of the Eagles w/o much problem, but they are going to have to earn a road win vs. their SE Michigan opponent if they come to play. I’m sure they will as they have nothing to lose.
I say run and gun, slam, bam, jam, shoot from everywhere on the court and leave no stone unturned in their upset bid. Do what a bad IU-Indy team did to Ohio State in a 118-102 loss to the Buckeyes–play the way the old Loyola Marymount teams did like when they beat Michigan in the NCAA Tournament in the late-’80’s-early-’90’s in a 149-115 win. Shoot the ball every 10 seconds. Play playground ball as if they are on the streets of Detroit and Toledo!
Sorry for the novel, people, I love MAC and Big 10 hoops and football.
