2027 Football Recruiting

That’s it in a nutshell!

For everybody out there that thinks NIL is great and players should get every penny they can don’t whine when they bolt for more $$$.

You’re getting exactly what you asked for.

If you think that flipping commitments for more NIL money, kids that are on their 3rd school in 3 years and looking to get a few more bucks at their 4th is what college sports should be about there’s a lot of people that would disagree.

What about coaches, administrators and executives making millions and millions? Is that what college sports should be about? No? Let’s talk about how to rein in the entire system then.

Until that happens we need not worry about players getting a cut. They’re the ones putting their bodies on the line.

This also applies equally to coaches, administrators and executives:

“I’m 1000% committed…until something better comes along…then you can go fuck yourself!”

I think most coaches would support some more reasonable NIL structure coupled with a change in the current annual free agent portal, which has essentially decoupled many student athletes from the traditional concept of a college education. I imagine most mid-major coaches have very little positive to say about either being raided after every season or having the best players recruited from high school enticed away before setting foot on campus by a more lucrative initial NIL offer.

To me it makes little sense to spend money like drunken sailors on players with not much of a track record. Case in point is that of Gio Lopez, the QB who transfered after one decent year at South Alabama to the UNC Tar Heels with a two year NIL deal of $4 million. Things didn’t work out for him under the iron fist of Bill Belichik so he transferred to Wake Forest for his final year - with a considerably smaller but undisclosed NIL deal. That will send him to his third school in four years. But he is probably a millionaire in spite of having proven virtually nothing on the field.

TAMU and Michigan trying to steal a Miami commit

And Purdue trying to steal another commit

welp! Seems like we will not be keeping Kerns. May be able to compete with a Purdue offer. Not really sure if we’re going to compete with TAMU/UM

Maybe catch these kids on the way back down if they don’t play at the P4 level. Relationships still the key. Oh…and :money_bag: these days.

This is how much you have to pay a high school senior who hasn’t played one minute of college football: https://x.com/on3/status/2052748040880971781?s=46&t=F-WLIxbyYlhHo-puMzmVzw

When Martin hears about offers from schools like A&M and Michigan after he’s met with them atleast twice and they’ve “committed” to Miami what do you think his reaction is?

He calls the next player in his list and thinks wouldn’t it be sweet if we got a guy those guys want too

Izvayeon Moore just offered by Purdue. He said recently he was “100% committed to Miami”.

His choice - be a WINNER or be a LOSER…
