One reason that the big get bigger, is that the alumni of major conference schools knew they were going to large enrollments when they enrolled. It’s like a filter. High school seniors don’t choose Miami to go be semi professional fans like you see at Ohio State Clemson, Florida State, Georgia. You name it. So the social currency after the fact is being a giant contributor at the top of the sports social mountain of those schools. And for Miami, it’s a combination of students that didn’t go there with this on their mind in the first place and then being near the top of the contribution mountain at a mid major school is just not the same overall. Believe me I’m not discouraging any of our most well off alumni not to go all in. I’m just saying there’s a DNA about the difference.
well the portal doesn’t open up until after the national title game so there’s not going to be much news until then. and steele is under contract already…
Plenty of players nationally have announced an intention to enter. But, I agree that no public announcements yet doesn’t necessarily equal nothing happening at all. If anything, I take the current silence as players giving Miami is a first bite at the apple, which would be consistent with what we’ve heard about the larger team culture.
Lol. Elmer is staying. I’ve not been posting in this thread as to not incite fear. Maybe we should have a separate thread with only actual Miami Portal information and a thread with completely speculative information.
The timing of Kirby announcing he is coming back and Byers’s agent announcing that he is going portal are obviously related. One is happy with his bag from Miami, the other isn’t. The remaining dominos will start falling fast.
