Looks like Coach Wright was in a DOBO-type position at X last season after being a GA at Oklahoma State. Looks like before that, she worked in administrative roles at the Big XII conference office and the Texas Tech athletic department (while she was a student and grad student at TTU).

This is an excellent hire who brings high major experience to the program. As with his roster Coach Box when he lost someone upgraded the position.

This looks to me to be the first coaching position for Wright. She was listed as assistant AD for basketball at X. Her prior experience appears to be primarily administrative which is necessary for DOBO. She must have wanted an opportunity to be able to get into coaching. Happy she has the opportunity with us.
She also worked at Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and directly for the B12. Arguably has more experience than Kym Royster who she replaces.

Yes, she worked at all of these spots but it appears all of her duties were administrative. No real coaching background that i can see.
Her skill set is excellent for DOBO. Her background is in operations and administration. No question better experience for this role than Royster had when she took the position.

Kim Royster had strong connections to both Coach Box ( she played for him while he was at Indiana and Coach Shumate (she played for him in high school plus she played overseas for a few years after Indiana so she had that experience, but this was her first coaching experience). One thing she brought to the team was an experienced and physical post player to work with our big girls, and a great person to scrimmage against during practice.

We have improved the coaching experience of our coaching staff. Royster decided to pursue other things and we wish her well.
