1-0 UMass with 45 seconds left in the first quarter. Miami had all the pressure all game but the UMass goalie made some great saves. UMass get a corner and score
And UMass get a second 20 seconds later after Miami concedes another penalty corner, combined with a card
3-0 UMass on a penalty stroke towards the end of the 3rd. That’ll probably be the game. We’ve outshot UMass 18-5 but have not been able to score
I know zero about field hockey but it seems like we out shoot everyone by these tremendous margins but the other teams shots often score. Is it a style of play thing?
Probably can’t say I know
Miami has scored twice! It’s 3-2 10 mins remain
Incoming W!
Miami falls just short 3-2. We outshot UMass 30-5, 16-3 on goal. Gonna have to get revenge in the tournament
Tough loss, especially with that edge in shots. Attendance was 329, not bad for a dreary Friday afternoon.
BTW, that’s much larger than what UMass has been drawing at home. Also, prior to this match UMass had allowed only 5 goals and 52 shots ALL SEASON. Looking forward to the rematch!
